Two-story brick rowhouse with front porch facing a heavily wooded part of Wyman Park. Quiet street but essentially part of hip Hampden, blocks from the "Avenue." Telescoping porches with friendly neighbors. Pella replacement, wood windows. New roof, 2014. Kitchen still has the original glass cabinet, as well as circa 1950s cabinetry, deep porcelain farm sink with drainboards on either side, exposed brick wall and room to eat-in. Built in shelving and cabinets plus a large built-in closet in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Clawfoot bathtub in tiled bathroom with skylight.
What I love about the home
We spend a lot of time on our back deck and small brick patio, shaded by a beautiful dogwood tree. The park right out the front door is a great place for dog-walkers (several acres), and the playground just steps from our house is where lots of parents and children gather. We also spend a lot of time in the basement--guests often comment on what a great space it is: white-washed stone walls, brick archways, encased/double-pane windows, painted concrete floors--dry and the place where we watch TV and keep the kids' toys. Adds an entire floor--some 600+ sq. ft to the house's living space--beyond what is officially listed. The house is remarkably bright--every room has at least one window. We talk across porches and across the alley with neighbors who really care about making this place home. I love being able to walk to Rocket to Venus or Commonground... Walkable to the light rail. Trails to the Jones Falls trail and Druid Hill and the Reservoir. Yellow crested night herons nesting in the woods and graffiti on the underpass arches.
